Two LTI programs were ranked among the best in the country recently by the publication TechGuide. The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation (MSAII) program ranks number one on the publication's list of the best MS programs in Artificial Intelligence, while the Master of Computation Data Science (MCDS) program was ranked ninth among data science masters programs. TechGuide's annual rankings consider factors including program costs, curriculum, and career paths after graduation.
"Many top firms are snapping up qualified professionals with AI skill sets as quickly as they can find them, and having an advanced degree in the field helps to stand out from the crowd," TechGuide's accompanying news release explains.
The MSAII program, led by Professor Michael Shamos, combines a rigorous AI and machine learning curriculum with real-world team experience in identifying an AI market niche and developing a responsive product in cooperation with external stakeholders.
The MCDS program, under the directorship of Professor Carolyn Rose, strives to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to develop the layers of technology involved in the next generation of massive information system deployments and analyze the data those systems generate.
TechGuide, produced by TriTown Media, is an online publication whose mission is to "provide actionable information to help readers make data-driven decisions on the best tech-related educational and career opportunities." This year's rankings were formed with input from faculty members of Hampton University, Berea College, the University of St. Thomas and the University of South Dakota.
