Alon Lavie is a Distinguished Career Professor at the Language Technologies Institute (LTI) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), where he has been a member of the faculty since 1996. In July 2025, he rejoined the faculty in an active role position after ten years of adjunct faculty status, during which he worked full-time in senior AI R&D management positions in industry. At LTI, he is currently the Director of the MS in AI and Innovation (MSAII) professional Master's program.Research
