Teruko Mitamura is a Research Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Language Technologies Institute (LTI). Her research spans natural language processing, machine translation, and question answering systems, with a particular focus on developing multilingual and multimodal AI systems. Dr. Mitamura has led numerous high-impact projects, including the DARPA-funded KAIROS/CHRONOS initiative, which enables schema-based reasoning for complex real-world events, and the AIST Bridge Project, focused on integrating textual, visual, and structured information for advanced AI systems.
